    @Kari,

Hi, just a suggestion as we have guests from Macrium, we probably want to have a little more structure than the usual open TF sessions.

I suggest if anybody has a question they type it in text, then (I assume you as the Chairman) either reads the question or tells participant to go ahead.

I have been on similar forums before, and this was always the most effective way of doing it.

Perhaps you could post some meeting etiquette rules here before hand?

I am using Skype for Business to host TenForums Saturday Live sessions. It has a buil-in feature for Q&A; all attendees mics will be muted when Q&A starts, without the attendee being able to unmute it. Questions are typed in IM, answered in order they are posted.

As a host I can also mute both audio and video from an attendee misbehaving, or even kick attendees out.

Presenter's mic remains always unmuted, questions will be answered with both audio and possible video and presentations.

It's really pretty straight forward, but I will in any case post something before Saturday. Common sense and normal behaviour rules will bring us through the meetings :)

I actually only have one question.

I never get any errors, but some members here do,
if maybe they could have/add a link in Help in the toolbar, to a list of common error codes and what they (might)mean.

You posting your suggestion here is by the way what we would like you TenForums enthusiasts to do: we can start collecting questions about issues, suggestions and such here in this thread.

Also, esteemed fellow TF geeks, do share this on social media, spread the word, tweet the link to this thread.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi.
I won't be there, but you might read this for me:

I've used Macrium for a few years now, after having been introduced to it by some Sevenforums members.
I have to say, it's saved my bacon numerous times, and I put it on just about every system I work on for others too.
In addition to backing up, I've used it for

    - fixing boot problems after removing OSs from multi-boot systems,
    - recovering from malware attacks,
    - recovering from failed WUs,
    - replacing drives,
    - mounting images to grab older versions of files,
    - identifying failing drives

I noticed that it will even re-create a missing backup folder when I replace a backup drive (nice!).

I'm told I can remotely, (using Teamviewer, for example), restore an image without any "local user interaction", if I have the Recovery Boot Menu option added to a system. I haven't tried this yet, but am looking forward to it.

The features of the paid version like, Fast Delta Restore, Incrementals and Image Guard are invaluable.
Paramount Software are to be commended for their excellent software.

The one thing I'd like to see in the free version is Incremental Backups, and I'll tell you why: Many times, when called to help with an infection or system problem, I like to have a current, up-to-date backup before I start working. Waiting for a differential can take a long time (including verification). It would be nice to have the incremental option available to me.

Another thing that would make life easier, would be to have the error codes in the logs live-linked to the Macrium page for that error. That, and cereberus's item #3 back on the first page.

    Thanks.
Actually it is impossible to remotely connect to a remote session and kick off Macrium via the boot menu. This is because Teamviewer does not run in winpe mode and would have to be running first. Basically, you cannot ever see the boot menu remotely.

I have never yet found a simple solution.

The only way I have ever managed to do it is to have a dual boot pc with 2 installs of windows that you can remotely connect to either, and use Macrium in one installation to restore drives in other. You also have to faff around with changing which is default.

Re. incrementals I agree. As I said earlier other leading packages now offer that in their base free package, and they are making inroads into Macrium's market loudly advertising incrementals.

I think she means if you start a recovery inside of Windows, it then asks if you want to reboot into WinPE to do it
