Good to see the PowerShell fans

The thing to remember is it's procedural (not like OOP where one can call objects from anywhere, overide them etc) so those need to be declared before use.

You can use my script here - it covers most of the bases.. from setting parameters to piping (which is what makes PS stand out) and the normal loops etc.
PowerShell 5.0 is fully object oriented, and while the previous versions are procedural, you still always work with objects since it's part of .NET frameworks design. :)

Whilst powershell is a great idea, my concern is an online session may be very difficult to do, as the learning curve to go from a total beginner to proficient user is lengthy. Personally I think a series of tutorial videos would be more constructive. I know this would take a lot of effort though.

It would be more like "How do I use a commandlet" -type of session.

In order to learn how to create really useful scripts and understand the full PowerShell language, would require weeks worth of video tutorials. Same as with any programming language.

I've had some real life time demanding issues as well as issues with failed upgrades. Or, to be more precise, Windows upgrades do not fail but O365 loses activation with each Skippy upgrade, forcing me to reinstall Windows because no fix gets O365 working / activating, not even uninstall / reinstall will work.

Did a new deployment image yesterday, will install my video editing software most probably tomorrow. If not posted in next three days, remind me again

Thanks Kari. No rush. I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss it - haven't been on much lately.

Hmph! I learned how to use PowerShell to install freebies, and if I can learn that, anyone can surpass me easily. I think that as we learn each new thing in PowerShell, the next will come somewhat easier with someone guiding us.

Just as we can't eat an elephant in one bite, we can't learn everything in one session. That said, I can't figure out why anyone would want to eat an elephant in the first place! :)

Totally out of context, that Avatar of yours still makes me queasy! There's no rhyme or reason for it, for I've seen worse, and I tend to pass your valuable posts because of it. Just to get it out of viewing range. Is this a new internet avatar phenomena I wonder? I'm actually serious that all seeing eye avatar churns my stomach

Of course it is and has me wondering why it affects me so much. The last time I saw an eye doing the same movements was when we put a bitch dog down in the vets when she had a terminal disease, I was 15 years old at the time, and the one brown eye, that I could see, was doing the same revolving movement as the avatar when she died after the vet injected her. My problem only but will still scroll past that avatar as I don't like it.
