They were referring to the Cumulative Updates, those are routinely released on the second Tuesday of each month, nicknamed 'Patch Tuesday'. Features Updates don't seem to have a fixed 'date' as such.

Build updates occur more often than Version Upgrades, last year saw 2 Version Upgrades, 1703 and 1709. One Version Upgrade was even delayed because it was across a weekend. For Version 1709 the MCT is providing Build 16299.15 while an Upgrade through Windows Updates from 1607 to 1709 gave Build 16299.125 with ensuing updates taking that up to Build 16299.309.
