92% now. USB drive is flashing away now. Edit... its done. Yay.
I have to go out now and so this will be one to play with over the weekend although I might give it a whirl in a couple of hours. I've got fresh copies of all my software ready to install. Its probably around 6 or 7 hours work to get it all set up again as I want......
Hi folks
just started converting ESD to iso and will try as a VM later -- trying the EN GB edition (the US spelling / units / cackhanded date system / 12 hr clock etc drives me BONKERS so prefer GB edition). @cereberus -- now you know why it's easy to drink a Gallon of Ale in the USA !!!!!

Installed as a VM but as usual network on file explorer only shows Windows computers otherwise simple install
I haven´t added any applications yet or messed around with it. This is the version that will be released not the insider preview.

Well I've mostly finished all the setting up and customisation of a clean install but find I have hit an unexpected snag. An application I use requires the old .net framework, and this has never been a problem as I just enable it 'Programs and Features'.
The Spring Update is throwing up an error whenever I try. Within a couple of seconds of clicking OK (to make the changes) I get this error message. Clicking the help link brings this explanation up:
I'll investigate this one at leisure since I hardly ever actually need it although its nice to have for when I do.Code:https://support.microsoft.com/nl-nl/products/windows?os=windows-10 Error code 0x800F081F This error code can occur when an alternative installation source is specified and one of the following conditions is true: The location that is specified by the path does not contain the files that are required to install the feature. The user who tries to install the feature does not have at least READ access to the location and to the files. The set of installation files is corrupted, incomplete, or invalid for the version of Windows that you are running. To fix this problem, make sure that the full path of the source is correct (x:\sources\sxs) and that you have at least Read access to the location. To do this, try to access the source directly from the affected computer. Verify that the installation source contains a valid and complete set of files. If the problem persists, try to use a different installation source.
Another odd issue is that the old winaero games (the original Vista games) still install OK but there is no games launcher that I can find. The .exe for each game works OK and as I only use a couple its no big deal to have to tiles, one for each game, rather than the single launcher.
And finally, all my re-installed programs seem normal, however Media Player needs a magnifying to use :) Everything else so far seems fine although I had to use my compendium of Shawns font size registry fixes to get the look I wanted.
