There are many tools that allow you to make a bootable USB from the ISO. I use the free program Rufus, which has been able to handle everything I've thrown at it, from Linux distros to Windows.

I generally just use the MCT to make the USB, that is the most versatile option as it can be used both for booting to do a clean install and for running an upgrade from within Windows.

Technically, with a bit of fiddling about it is possible to create a bootable USB from the ISO, you have to use Diskpart to clean all partition info from the USB, create and format a Fat32 partition then mark it Active. Then you can mount the ISO and copy all the files and folders to the USB. Far simpler to let the MCT do it for you.

I'll just wait for the update via the regular process, from what I've read about the spring creators update, it's supposedly not that great anyway.

Since Windows 10 was first released, the mantra for each new version seems to have been 'evolution' not 'revolution'. No longer will we get the 'culture shock' of a change like from Windows 7 to 8.

So, I'm not expecting 1803 to seem much different from 1709. But if you load up the original release, build 10240 and compare it with today's version you'll see big changes have happened along the way, you just didn't notice them as they were gradual.

When should most people expect to see it available?

The latest cumulative update messed me up...wasn't able to get past the sign in screen after booting up (black screen)..i was able to save things by going into windows 10 system recovery options (when hitting f8 key on the HP screen) i have an HP laptop...

Got Firefox browser downloaded and put windows mail back on...I did the PC Reset option which saves files but not added apps when it re-installs windows...

But i figure at this point, instead of putting everything back on, it makes more sense to get the windows media installation tool, put it on a dvd, and do a clean install of Spring Creator's Update...as soon as i can grab it...hope it is released on tuesday....

Really PO'd though that the latest cumulative update borked my system

At least meantime i can do my browsing and get my mail...

Normally updates are released at 10AM PDT so that would be 1PM your time.

I've encountered three real problems so far with SCU.

1/ Unable to enable .net2 framework via control panel. The good folk on here helped me overcome that issue using the DISM commands to enable via a command line prompt.

2/ A problem, or rather problems with Edge. On one site I use a lot I encountering issues with using the keyboard 'enter' key to move the cursor down a line. Nothing happens on the first press and yet the action has in fact registered. So you press once, the cursor doesn't move, and you begin typing. When you type the cursor starts off a new line. If you press twice the cursor moves down one line, when you type it jumps another line down.

So when you type normally it come out like this :)

    Do you see.

Another issue is that for at least one site, Edge will not in any way shape or form retain log in details. Before SCU Edge retained the details for the site in question. Now it doesn't.

I'm also looking to reinstall the old Vista games such as Chess Titans etc. MS seem to have put a block on these installing correctly this time around. I can get them to work, but not from a central games launcher button. The launcher shortcut installs with no target info present... and I don't know where it lives... yet.

    Mail App problems

Did anyone on the Springs Creator update experience issues with multiple accounts not syncing or Gmail accounts not working?
