hi,
i am using windows 10
and i want to show folder size too in explorer

Summary: Folder size is an Explorer function that should be built-in! but TreeSize and WizTree both fill void for free.

It is a frustrating missing feature from Windows for decades - so there must be a good reason for ms not to add this seemingly missing piece.

However the aftermarket apps that do show folder size today are amazing.

I've relied on WinDirStat for years and before that SpaceSniffer. WinDirStat is free, open source. Its my baseline. Its incredible use of visuals and multiple views of your file-system information is like suddenly like opening your eyes for the first time.

Today's app market has TreeSize and WizTree. Both 'free' in a sense you can download and run without needing to pull out the credit card.

I did a quick side-by-side of these two just now. I like them and will go forward with one or both these and retire WinDirStat because it doesn't export to CSV.

TreeSize and WizTree visually are excellent, and fast, if you can grant them administrator level access. Choosing to set 'administrator-level' mode is an option in both - this is needed for users on enterprise PCs where admin-rights aren't always available, but file space management is a constant chore.

TreeSize is better looking but won't export to CSV in the free version.
WizTree does export to CSV but at some point users should send money to the authors because its donationware.
[side thought - Not sure why donationware writers don't have a monthly 1$ subscription or pay-per-use setup]

I'm going to keep playing with WizTree and TreeSize and decide which is worth the money later.
