We already have that answer! My sister-in-law bought an HP Chromebook for her mother. It ran for a couple of years before giving trouble, after which we bought her a new one, an Acer.

Both of them were low-RAM and small disk (flash disk?) ... and cheap. I said earlier that this is suitable for grandma (or, in this case, 82-year-old mother-in-law). She does surf-n-email and some online card games. That's all. For this a Chromebook is adequate.

For anything more it's not. There's no real software available ... only the google-supplied apps. Good enough for grandma, but not for the rest of us.

Storage is tiny. Performance is slow. If you compute you need a real computer, not a wannabe Chromebook laptop.
It ain't good enough for this great-grandma! Just sayin'.

My only confusion with the thread is that the OP already purchased the Chromebook, meaning they were already aware and in acceptance of it's limitations. It is good for what it was designed for...basic usage within the Google world.

Different strokes for me, I set up Chrome OS and Linux on a "Windows" type computer. The asus lappy I am on now runs fairly good on 32GB memory with Win10 FCU. :)

I bought one of those 32 bit Windows machines, and the thing wouldn't update to the RTM version available then; not enough memory, and although I added a 32 GB SD, it still wouldn't update. So, it went back to Office Depot.

The replacement did the same thing, so that was the end of 32 GB machines for me.

Edit: I just re-read and I don't think you meant "32GB memory"? I'm really confused.

I think it's the usual confusion between storage and memory. Many of these netbook type devices shipped with a small solid-state drive built-in. 32 GB was a common capacity.

Sorry, how about 32GB eMMC storage and 2GB memory. Checked today and of that 32GB only 12GB is used and 18GB Free! Have not had any update problems with it, since it originally was W8.1 and bought it from the MS Store. YMMV

It shows datapart1. But then it immediately disappears and the message ofRemoveable device detectedExplore the device's content in the files appWhoa, there. Be careful. In the future, be sure to eject your removable device in the files app before unplugging it. Otherwise, you might lose data.
