The Notifications Center on the bottom right of the computer desktop

    Hello,

My question is about the Notifications Center on the bottom right of the computer desktop.

Is there any way to just turn this thing OFF? I find it to be so annoying. And even if I put it on 'Quiet Hours' it just keeps on with it. It doesn't continue to 'pop up' but still, it keeps saying the same things over and over and over again, if I delete the notification by clicking on the 'x'. Or is there something else that I must do to get it to stop?

For instance, I downloaded 'HP Photo Creations' or something like that. So now, in the Notifications Center it keeps on and on and on reminding me that they have uploaded new stuff to it. I finally just clicked on it to get it to leave me alone about it but STILL, it just keeps on notifying me of it.

Finally, I put it on 'Quiet Hours' just to get it to stop doing that. It keeps putting this notification up about it if I delete them. I mean seriously, what does it want from me? I was thinking of just deleting this HP Creations thing just to get it to shut up about it and leave me alone, but now I am wondering if there is a way to just delete the entire Notifications thing from my computer? Or will it then keep pestering me to re-add it?

It feels like they are trying to force me to do whatever it is they want me to do, by pestering the Hades out of me. It ought to be called a 'Nag Center' instead of a 'Notifications Center'

Go to Settings > Notifications & actions , and try turning off, Get Notifications from apps and other senders. Then see if that helps.
Or scroll down to the "Get notifications from these senders" Then turn off the ones that annoy you the most

Thank you. I tried to do what you said. It doesn't have any 'settings' on here just 'PC Settings' . Not sure if that's the same thing? I tried putting 'Settings' in the search but couldn't find anything.

But anyway, when I click PC Settings there is no Notifications & actions> So I clicked on the support thing, and Nothing there either.

I clicked on a support thing and typed in 'Notifications' and this came up, see the screenshot image below (see the first suggestion they gave)...

So I went to my control panel then to SYSTEM and no such thing there, either.

But at least now I know it's called the 'Action Center' LOL! :)

By the way would this keep me from getting notifications of Updates to my computer, if I turned off notifications?

Is there no way to just get it to stop giving you more notifications of something once you click the 'x'?

I just tried something. I went to the 'Action Center' itself and I found this wheel-like icon called 'All Settings' then I clicked it and it opens up and bunch of stuff then I clicked on 'Apps'.

Maybe that is what you meant. But I still dont see anything that says anything about Notifications

WAIT! I just found it by accident.

I did the same above but this time I clicked on 'Video Playback' and THAT is where 'Notifications and Actions' is located on my computer. (really weird). I turned it off where it says 'Get notifications from apps and other senders'.

So anyway now I thjink I have got it.

I still wonder if it will notify me of updates if I turn off the Action Center Notifications. I will see if I am able to find some advanced settings on this.

Note: I just figured out to type updates in the search and I can get updates if I need them that way.

Oops my bad, It's Settings > System > Notifications & actions, sorry about that. If you leave the first option I mentioned ON, then play with the ones at the bottom of the screen you should still get the Notifications you want. With a lot of Windows settings it can be a bit of trial and error.
