Thumbnail cache and icon cache rebuilding after a feature update?

I was curious about the thumbnail cache and icon cache. Do these rebuild themselves after a feature update? I have a small issue with some icons. It so insignificant that I won’t bother manually rebuilding the icon cache but just wondered if a feature update forces something like this seeing as it already returns some windows 10 settings to default (such as system restore being off by default)

    thanks

Odd, but my System Protection/Restore stays on. Just updated both machines to 10 Home x64 Version 1709 (OS Build 16299.251) and both are still set.

Yeah, it stays on for cumulative updates but whenever there’s a big feature update it’s one of a few things whereMS doesn’t respect a user’s preference and turns it off!

I've not seen a Features Update turn off my system protection, turning Fast Start Up back on - yes, but system protection it leaves alone.

I do know others have reported it being turned off though, so I'll believe you. Whether it gets turned of or not may be conditional on the state of some other setting(s) but I'm at a loss to say which...
