Win 10 - Explorer.exe hanging occasionally, MPC hangs on skip
For the past couple of weeks, explorer.exe has behaved oddly. It usually stalls for long enough for me to provoke the "the application has stopped responding, would you like to close it?" error to appear just after logging in (Not normal. Using an NVME)
I finally decided to try the nuclear option and reinstalled Windows (Nuked the entire NVME and let Windows create a new partition)
However it hasn't fixed the issue - Even on the very first bootup after a re-installation it appears, and now MPC (Media Player Classic) hangs for about 1½ second every time I skip to the next video file in a folder, which it didn't do before.
I'm honestly at a bit of a loss as to what can cause it. The event viewer doesn't immediately seem to have any oddities (not that I'd know what to look for there), aside from the obvious shutdowns of explorer. HDTune reports not a single error on the NVME (Deep scan), and I haven't made any hardware changes.
