Call complete. hResult = 0x80041010 appears after PC starts

    Hello

Can anyone advise us on the following please?

PC is lenovo c340 running Windows 10 Home - build 16299.

After starting the computer a box titled Note appears with the message: Call complete. hResult = 0x80041010

The box also has an OK button.

After clicking OK a second box appears with the message: ExecNotificationQueryAsync failed with = 0x80041010

Any advice on this issue would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks.

Hi lemondrop. Welcome to the TenForums @lemondrop

Can you share when did this message start. Tuesday was Patch Tuesday so a number of updates were applied.

In googling this error appears to be related to the Windows Management Interface (WMI)

First thing I would try is getting to a Command Prompt(admin) (right click Start) and run SFC /scannow.

If that shows corruption you may havce to run up to three times to correct.

If there is no corruption you could also look at uninstalling the updates that were delivered yesterday or you could try an inplace repair / upgrade. Tutorial here.

    Hello Ken

Thanks very much for your reply and advice.

After a bit of investigation we found by using a clean boot that a volume synch program was causing the issue.

The program was not needed and after deleting it we no longer get the issue after startup.

Thanks again for taking the time to help us.
