Clock always 20 minutes fast if set on automatic

I Googled 'Windows 10 clock wrong' but only results pertaining to a wrong time zone showed up and it said to set the time zone to manual and select your time zone. But the time zone of a work computer I am told to troubleshoot is indeed on the correct time zone. It does not matter if my time zone is on automatic or manual, the clock always runs 20 minutes fast.

so I added '20 minutes fast to my search, still only got the results about wrong time zone. threw quotes around "20 minuts fast" and then got "no results for" "searching without quotes" and the same results about the time zones. There seems to be no information regarding the clock being 20 minutes fast.

There seems to be a different issue causing it to be 20 minutes fast. There is no place in the world that is going to have a 20 minute time difference, especially in America. So I have no clue why the clock is 20 minutes fast when it is on automatic. This computer has been this way since my work has gotten the computer. Windows 10 is the original OS. We had it about a year

I tried setting the time to manual and putting in the correct time, but as soon as I put it back on automatic, it becomes 20 minutes fast again.

This is an Acer Aspire XC-603G

    Hi.

Are you syncing with the Internet Time. My system is using the server time.windows.com which is found on the Internet Time tab.

If you enter the BIOS what time is it showing?

Method 3 in this link could be the answer.

Always have a restore and I prefer a System Image mad with a tool like Macrium.

There's at least 3 places on this list that have 30 minute offsets but that doesn't explain 20 minutes:

    Perform the following steps:
Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    1) sfc /scannow
    2) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    3) chkdsk /scan
    4) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    5) msconfig (in the pop up system configuration > move the dot from normal startup to selective startup > uncheck load startup items > click service tab > in left lower corner check hide all Microsoft services > in the lower right side click disable all > click apply or ok > do not reboot)

    6) taskmgr (in the pop up task manager > click on the start up tab > click on status so that the column sorts with enable rising to the top > right click on each row with enable and change to disable)

    7) shutdown /r (you will reboot the computer so that it is in clean boot)

    8) Open the website: Time.is - exact time, any time zone

    9) Once the computer is in clean boot compare the computer time with time.is and report the findings into the thread with a side by side image.

    10) Create a Ubuntu / Linux bootable flash drive:
Create a bootable USB stick on Windows | Ubuntu tutorials

    11) Power on the computer and click the applicable keyboad key to open the BIOS boot menu
List of PC brands with their corresponding hot-keys

    12) Select the external USB flash drive

    13) Open mozilla firefox or another browser and then view time.is
Compare the time again and report the results into the thread.

Do note the time.is display will probably be for your ISP/Internet Service Provider rather than the user's computer, mine is and I'm 80 miles away from it. Rare but not impossible for the user and the ISP to be in different time zones.
