Get this, I searched for system restore from the command area, And instantly windows explorer browser popped open, then I immediately clicked images, got instant response, then absolutely dead in the water, back to nothing working for chrome or windows browser. So for a moment there it was back to normal.
It is still trying to bring up system restore.
there are 3 available restore points, 2/9, 2/7 critical update, 1/26 critical update.
I chose 2/9 a module install, which is I think the adobe flash one.
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware doesnt work on this version of Windows - Microsoft Community
Does it even work on 10?
May take hours to do a restore, slow as it is running. It has been running this getting ready message from the time of my last post. I find this very depressing.
Might need a complete fresh install to fix it.
I think a waste of time, pc is still trying to simple process the preparing for the restore. Whatever has occurred, it has destroyed the speed.
I see from your update history that you got the update to Fall Creators Update (1709) on 25th January. This was followed on the 26th January by the Cumulative Update KB4056892 Windows 10 v1709 Build 16299.192
Apart from the KB4074595 Security Update for Adobe Flash Player - Feb. 6 you have received none of the Windows Updates you should have had since then. I also note you are failing to install any of the updates for your installed Office XP.
The 'Reset this PC' option will uninstall all your installed apps, including your Office....I do notice a reset pc option, is it worth trying? As it is, the pc is worthless.
Reset Windows 10What it does
This is to refresh Windows 10.
Reinstalls Windows 10 and keeps your personal files.
Removes apps and drivers you installed.
Removes changes you made to settings.
Removes any apps your PC manufacturer installed. (If your PC came with Windows 10, apps from your PC manufacturer will be reinstalled.)
As your Windows Update doesn't appear to be working properly, try running the Windows Update Troubleshooter in...
Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot
I think I will reboot and try the reset option, otherwise I will have to download an iso and do a full install.
Hi,
You might fill in your system spec's and show us how you have 7-10 and linux installed.
