Frankly I was not aware the taskbar could be expanded like that. But I also just tied it and the method mentioned works just fine for me too. (Expand it go to settings and LOCK the TB - Reboot or Restart and it Holds the expanded size just fine. Running Win 10 version 1709 Build 16299.214).

I will post a screenshot - but can't right now - maybe later today (physical disability). I just tried Brink's .bat file and will try it for now. Thanks to all for the help. I can tell you all that I have been using the "Lock Taskbar" by right-clicking in the system tray. Been doing this for many years in all versions of Windows - same results. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that my Taskbar is almost completely filled when it is at it's highest setting on the monitor. Regarding EightForums post: I looked at it - interesting. But I want to try just one thing at a time so as not to confuse the issue. If necessary, I will try it. Thank you all!

Thank you Brink! I just ran the app and we'll see if that stops my Taskbar from changing size.

You can also try my suggestion if @Brink suggestion wont work.
1. Open the Registry Editor by pressing Windows + R keys, type Regedit.exe into opened Run box and click OK button.
2. Navigate to below registry key.
3. Create a DWORD Value and name the value as TaskbarLockAllCode:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
4. Double-click TaskbarLockAll and replace its value data with 1.
You may need to restart your computer to changes take affect.
OK, will do that next (if Brink's solution doesn't work). However, so far, it is working. We'll see tomorrow.
Just to make clear and notify, setting the TaskbarLockAll DWORD to 1 will also disable (gray out) just about all taskbar settings on the Settings > Personalization > Taskbar page.
I wouldn't recommend setting this unless you don't mind not being able to easily change any taskbar setting.

Hello Brink! It looks as if your suggestion on Post #14 (How to stop the Taskbar from being changed) is working. Some more time will tell - and I haven't rebooted since I ran the app - so I'll keep you and the other folks who contributed, informed when I'm sure it works under all circumstances.
