It recovers everything on the drive.
Which unfortunately won't work. There are hundreds of folders, all with hundreds of files within them that I need kept in those folders. I have no means of sorting them out manually.

It hasn't been. Not one byte has been written to that drive. And I ran a complete disk scan, there is nothing wrong with the physical disk, not a single error anywhere. This is software, not hardware.
Sounds more like a hardware failure. You can try using a Linux LIve DVD, but if you are not seeing any data on that disk, something is screwed up and it is not Windows.

So what is wrong with trying EaseUS and having it recover the files?

There's plenty of data on the disk. What vanished was every single folder that was open and being used at the time. Everything else is still there.

It's not that it can't recover the files, it also has to organize the files which every single other recovery program doesn't do. That's why I asked how EaseUS operates.

Their is a good chance you lost what you were working on at the time you rebooted.

You should save your work and close the program properly before rebooting.

I did. I don't care if I lost what I was working on so long as the source files survived. But this is thousands and thousands and thousands of files.

Just used Puran File Recovery to get at least some of it back since it was the only program I can find that will recover in directories, not just files. There's still a ton left that it cannot find and I am deep scanning the drive to see what more I can get.

You may think that there is a bunch of 1's and 0's there. What Windows shows is what it can only see. If you use a LInux LIve DVD, you can go in and see if the file table for windows is messed up. No folders or files, means that you have a bad drive possibly. Not hard to figure out.

Armchair hindsighting here but if your data is important, you need to be backing up.

Just some friendly advice for future reference
