A confusion in file explorer menu nomenclature?

I think you search with kind:=document or kind:=video (for multiple extensions) or alternatively type:=.exe or type:=.txt for a specific extension.

The top button puts kind:=whatever you chose in the search box while the bottom one simply puts type: in the search box and you have to manually type in "=.txt" or whatever extension you are looking for.

On 1709 I have "Kind" and "Type" separately not "Type" for both as you do. Perhaps because I use en-US and something was lost in translation to en-GB if you use that?

I see the same Search choices in the latest RTM version, Kind at the top but clicking Other properties get the Type. And the choices are Dynamic, menu changes according to what the Search is in.

Need someone with en-GB to check it I guess.

Alternatively @dalchina could delete "C:\Windows\en-GB\explorer.exe.mui" and it should then default to en-US (I think that would work).

The word Kind is pretty much an exact synonym of Type. I guess Extension would be better than Type here (seeing a Type is short for File Type in this case) but Extension wouldn't fit in the UI as it has too many letters.

Must be quite hard writing a multi-lingual computer systems now I think of it, but as far as I know these 2 words don't have different meanings in UK and US English so a small mystery certainly :)
