Windows 10 is a free UPGRADE, not a free OS and keeps same rights as Windows you upgraded from. If anybody wants a no strings attached full W10 version will have to shell out $$$ for a Retail version of his choice. Only other option is to join/ stay with Insider Program but that entails agreement to receive and test new updates/upgrades/features before they are released to public.
So, those are conditions and anything else is just somebody's interpretation maybe due to MS not coming out clean in the beginning and maybe even too legal like language in Eula.

I have upgraded from windows 7 Ultimate to windows 10 pro. It all upgraded without problems & shows its activated. Now I want to make a ISO of the media so I can do a fresh install from scratch but I have a problem, I can't seem to find out what my new Product key is. I googled around & they suggest using a 3rd party key finder but to be honest I don't like using tools like that.

From reading pre release news & articles from microsoft & so on. We can download the ISO to install fresh but we need to upgrade first to enable to key. What key? I have tried to use my original Windows 7 key but it wont accept it so I presume on upgrading we are issued with a new unique product key for future installations of windows 10, but where & how do we obtain it?
I used the media creation tool to do both my upgrade and clean installs:

    Windows 10

Choose "create media to install on another computer" , also boot from the media you create and choose "custom" install...skip the product key entry that pops up several times...It should activate once installed and connected.

If you see both your computers on here, Microsoft knows it's you as soon as you log in with an Internet connection. It automatically distinguishes your PCs by your motherboard's id.

Good article ( Extreme Tech web site) for those who think Windows 10 Pro or Home is not as secure as promised well look around and shut the things off that are sending info to Microsoft like I have done on my Desktop I just install 10 pro on and it using the same key as my other 2 Laptops. I am looking for a new Media center to watch TV with Windows 10 any suggestion or any one got something running on there system.
