If the program doesn't have to be free, TechSmith's Snagit includes a facility called Snagit Editor. This program includes the ability to quickly and easily drop text onto a screen cap (or any other graphic) and to position arrows to point to specific items or elements. Use it all the time. It also captures screen videos. It may be overkill, and it's kind of expensive ($50, but $30 for education and government users), but it does the job nicely. Check it out further here: Purchase Snagit by TechSmith.

I need to "Screen Capture" a portion or more of my Monitor and then "ADD" text onto the image, using my Keyboard.

Currently, if you use the Snipping Tool, the only way to add notes is to DRAW.

Is there an Ap or a piece of Software that allows me to QUICKLY capture a portion of my screen and QUICKLY add a few notes "on top of" the captured image .... Then, QUICKLY save it all as one file. The content can be saved as a JPG (preferred.)

I can't stress enough how this has to be "QUICK". I may review 25 web pages in just a few minutes and I need to add a few notes/ a phone number/ a date/ etc onto the file... Then 'save it to my computer' and QUICKLY move to the next web page.

Using Microsoft Office or other large tools is not the answer.

    Thanks!

I thought this would be simple to find.. but no luck

Nice tool (and free). Thanks for the recommendation, Edwin. As usual, you know how to find the good stuff.

I find GreenShot real easy to use for capture and adding text, boxes, rectangles, arrows, etc. I've been using it for years on everything from XP through Win 10 Pro X64. You can set it up so when you capture it open in it's image editor where you can do all sorts of manipulations, neat program.

EdTittel .... Thanks for the recommendation for Snagit ... I used to use Snagit years ago .... Edwin I will def try Greenshot. dalchina I used PicPick today. It did the job.... but it was cumbersome at first.... not as fast as the Snipping tool, but nothing will be as fast a Snipping tool, but then it does not do what I need it to do... I will def try the Greenshot. You guys don't realize what a help you've been. I have spent hours on Google searching for a Program or Software or App. Those three words are key because the use of them in the search turns up totally different responses - mostly geared toward phones. There is no doubt by just reading my "posts" that I have trouble limiting my "search fields" to the basic minimum info, which has been part of the problem too! HaHa ..... So I thank each of you again for your input! ...
