    Hi,

Well DAGNABBIT! It works! Thank you, fdegrove!
    You're welcome, neighbour.

Hopefully I'm not being hacked or something?
Nah, that change in shellex is useless to a hacker. Just don't ask me how you got it there though....

    Cheers,

    Hello RingTailCoon, :)

Please go ahead and export the keys below from your Registry Editor (regedit.exe) as .reg files, and upload the .reg files here. I'll be happy to take a look at it to see if I can find this context menu, and post back a .reg file to remove it for you.

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DesktopBackground

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory
    Okidokie!reggie 1.reg Reggie 2.reg

No need now that you have it removed. Great news.

But how did it get there in the first place? Windows bug? My AV says I'm clean (also via MBAM)

    One possibility:

You have a tweaking type program installed that you used and may have added by mistake.

Oh yeeeeees! I used a few days ago Ultimate Windows Tweaker and never noticed the C drive there in the context menu! Oh man.... I'm getting OLD! I must have clicked on ADD...

Tweaking programs can be great, but they do make it real easy to set something by mistake and not know it.

    Hi,

Feels so stupid right now... -hides in the shamecorner!-
Things like that is precisely why I no longer use stuff like that. I too keep forgetting what I changed and what I used to do it.
No need to feel silly about it, it's quite normal. Especially so for coons like us.

Cheers and glad it's resolved now,
