Was just coming back to report that a restart did the trick, thanks. And the Quick Access icon is indeed gone so there's that. May I just say, though, that I truly, deeply, and most heartfeltedly (is SO a word!) detest Windows 10 and wish it would die screaming in flames? Thanks, I needed to just say that.![]()

I know this is an old thread, but this unwelcome and difficult-to-delete "Quick Access" just appeared on my desktop.
In my case, it happened immediately after installing Ghostscript for a pdf printer driver issue. However I am not convinced that it is not tied to a Windows update that also may have just occurred because I had updates disabled but was playing with those update settings in trying to solve my printer issue.
The real point of my post is to point to another thread (on a different site) that solved this issue for several people and for myself. In my case the simply option to uncheck "Use Sharing Wizard" on Explorer --> View options did the trick without having to try any of the registry edits. Hoping this is not against forum rules, here is the link:
