I assume you got the bat file from this Brink tutorial - Enable or Disable Auto Arrange in Folders in Windows 10 Customization Tutorials

If you got to the thread end, you know this 'fix' will only work until you close the window, your order will not be 'remembered'. Like you, I do this all the time, re-arrange pictures, say in chronological order, or whatever. My workaround is to re-number them in order. Run the 'disable auto-arrange bat, then in folder view, r-click 'View' then tick auto-arrange and align to grid. Get a good renumbering program since the one in File explorer may not retain the thumbnail order. I use FastStone Image viewer 6.4 to place in desired order & remembers session order, then Select All and drag to AF5 renamer, small old program that still does the job. Good Luck.

From Brink in post 101 of tutorial above - "Unfortunately, disabling auto arrange in File Explorer is no longer working starting in Windows 10 version 1703." Same with 1709, our current version.

Thanks mrgeek for the info, just when I found a work around its gone. Maybe in a future update will get it back, guess I will rearrage on old computer then move to new computer. Not sure why they decided to remove this option, but I still think Windows 10 is a Great OS.
