I would prefer to do this, to remove it from the task bar - but then where can the search box be accessed?

Give me a God damn traditional start menu and I am sold.

Windows 10 is a huge upgrade from Windows 7 for me... everything I did in Windows 7, I can still do in Windows 10.

I have 300 clients total, 75 are active. I run my online remote service from my home and work on all Windows OSes in people's homes around the world. Each one of those people received a warning from me about upgrading or buying W8 about one hour after I downloaded the Beta version. Same thing today. They all received a warning not to upgrade or buy a W10 computer.

I am still pointing, and will point people to Windows 7 64bit from sites, phone/skype calls and off course, my weekly email I send to all of them.

I received many "thank you" emails helping them dodge W8 and buy a new W7 desktop or laptop online. I even shopped with many of them in their browsers after connecting to their computers. These people rely heavily on my research and my subjective experience.

Fact remains that in the business world and the average computer user's world, Windows 7 64 Bit is the best OS Microsoft has put together since XP.

To read that people will have to download a W10 Start Menu to get back to what is "familiar". Wow! That is so ethically wrong by the Windows devs at M$ to make people have to get a third party program to have the same (or similar) experience they have had since Windows XP Start Menu.

When they rolled out W7 with Aero, artists of the world (actually people in general) loved the richness of the interface. Was that "too much" of a bell/whistle for M$ to add to W7? I think not. It did not get in the way of navigating the computer.


Esoteric Windows users love change. Not the masses. The masses want familiarity, a word I have typed a thousand times since W8 was released and will continue to emphize in other Microsoft oriented forums.

Can I change your minds? Of course not. But when people search the Internet for "opinions" on Windows 8/10, they will find these threads of discontent and have some "real experience" spelled out for them before they make their next move to a new OS or a new PC.
