Well ... I did that ... I have changed the icons several times ... it did not help.
    So I downloaded: fix_Recycle_bin.reg
( This is translated from dutch )
It says : Cannot import the fix_Recycle_bin.reg ... not all data are written to the register.
Some keys are used by the system or other processes or you don't have the rights to do so.
    Does that look familiar ?

Now I had 2 beautiful icons for the bin and they are gone and have been replaced with the original window ones and they DO refresh after emptying
Now i will try to change the icons and see if they refresh too.
    Thank you for the help.

Now you know what to do if the custom icon does not behave like the standard Windows' ones.
