    Freeze out

I have an Acer Aspire 4830T with 2.3Gz Intel Core, Intel HD Graphics 3000 and 3GB DDR Memory. I am running Windows 10 and every now and then the laptop freezes out with a loud buzzing sound. At one point I thought it was the Dolby Home Theater software. But when I turned that off it still happened. Can anyone give give me some advice?

I've never experienced this myself, but apparently a lot of other people have, as you'll see from this Google Search. Answers at Microsoft (not always the best source of help, but often worth attending to anyway) suggests it could be driver problem, or related to a corrupted user profile. You'll need to check over your drivers (you can install and use WUMT, the Windows Update MiniTool, to do this pretty quickly and easily). You might also want to set up a different user account, which automatically creates another user profile, and see if the problem persists in that altered login environment. Please try these things and let us know what you find out.

PS: make sure the "Include drivers" checkbox is checked when you configure WUMT's "Search for updates" pane, as shown here:
