File Explorer is numbering MP3 files twice
I have a file of about 35 GB worth of mp3's on my computer, the list grows and changes as I buy and download new albums or remove an existing one from time to time. I copy the file to a 32 gb flash drive I use in my car and the files play like normal. However, there is now a problem where Windows puts the number of each song in front of the song title twice on my radio display. For example, in my Deep Purple album the display will read like this:
01:01. Hush.mp3
02:02 Smoke On The Water.mp3
03:03 Highway Star.mp3
..and so on. When I open the flash drive and the master mp3 file here on my laptop, the songs are numbered normally, only once. It never had the double numbering problem in the car before I got the Fall Creators Update. Before the update it would just read like this both on the flash drive, the master file on my laptop and the display in the car:
01.Hush.mp3
02.Smoke On The Water.mp3
03.Highway Star.mp3
I did a test on one single album and found that I can go in to each song title on the music file in Windows Explorer and rename each one by dropping the number in front of each song, and it gets rid of the double numbering problem in the car display. I would rather not have to manually do that to the over 300 albums on my flash drive.
I appreciate any help if anyone here knows how to get Windows to number each song only once.
Thanks,
Jimmy
