Xbox Live Service in Fall Creators Update - How to Switch it Off?

I have just noticed that a thing called Xbox Live Service is running on my PC.
I can see it under System Settings - Xbox Networking.
    Can it be switched off?
Note: that I have used an elevated Windows Powershell Window to run the

    Get-AppxPackage *xbox* | Remove-AppxPackage

command, but it fails, basically telling me that it 'thinks that maybe it can't be done'.(??)

Any ideas? I will never own an Xbox and can do without unwanted services running on my PC.

    Hey jameswesthead,
Go to Services (search > type services > click on services) and check to see if any of the Xbox Services are running (stop them if they are) and make sure their startup is set to manual.

Note: Some of the Xbox stuff is baked into Windows 10 and can't be removed, but you should be able to remove the Xbox Apps.

Xbox also applies to some store games.

There are those 5 services I know about. Run CMD as admin and copy/paste:

    Code:
    reg add "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\xbgm" /v "Start" /t REG_DWORD /d "4" /f
    sc config XblAuthManager start= disabled
    sc config XblGameSave start= disabled
    sc config XboxGipSvc start= disabled
    sc config XboxNetApiSvc start= disabled
