Xbox One Controller Auto-Disconnects from Machine

I am using an Xbox One S controller on Windows 10. After plugging in and syncing the controller, it disconnects after maybe 10-15 seconds of use. Until the disconnect, it works perfectly fine. I have no idea what is happening, or how to fix it.

    Things I have tried:

    1. A different micro USB cable
    2. Deleting the drivers in device manager so they reinstall
    3. Restarting the PC
    4. Changing the controller batteries
    5. Using a different controller
    6. Using a different USB port

I have gotten to a point where I have ruled out all of the generic possibilities and can't find useful help in other forum posts. If anyone has any idea what the problem is I would appreciate the help.

I was going to say that maybe the battery needs to be charged, but since you're using a cable.....What version of 10 are you running (1607, 1703, 1709, 1803, etc)? I believe you need to be running 1607 at a minumum for this controller to work. Is 10 up to date? Do other controllers work? I can't think of any other relevant questions to ask, it's possible your controller may be defective. If I were you I would call Microsoft and ask about a replacement.

For the record, my Xbox One S controller works perfectly via Bluetooth or USB. I use an official battery pack rather than disposable batteries. I'm running 10 Enterprise LTSB N 1607, this is the latest version of my edition and all updates/drivers are installed.
