Xbox One Bluetooth controller having issues

So I have an Xbox One Bluetooth controller, with a Bluetooth 4.0 adapter, made by some Chinese company, I think. The issue is that occasionally my controller doesn't respond for a second or so, and that in of itself has created lag spikes in some games that freak out when the controller disconnects even momentarily (I'm looking at you, Bioshock series). Is this a Windows/controller issue, or is it more likely the BT adapter (the latter of which I'm willing to bet on)?

I have the same controller with an Asus branded BT 4.0 dongle and have never had input lag issues or disconnection issues like you're describing. If you haven't already, I'd recommend downloading the Xbox Accessories app from the Windows Store and update your controller's firmware, as that may help some. That being said, I'd lean towards the dongle being the most likely culprit.

Thanks for the reply. I did update the firmware the first day I got it, and have checked again twice since. The problem persists. I'm in agreement with you, that it could be the dongle itself.

I replaced the controller and the dongle with an ASUS branded one, and still had the same issues. I gave up and bought a wired Logitech C310.

Sorry to hear you didn't find a fix for your BT controller. Hope the Logitech works out well for ya.
