windows 7 freecell does not work on win 10 after 1607 upgrade

Took me ages to get windows 7 freecell to work on my windows 10, was working excellent until I put 1607 on my Lenovo all in one, really disappointed in this after so much work to get it right!!

Post nr 43 in this thread (I haven't tested 32 bit version but X-64 works fine -- also pinball, spider solitaire etc).

this is the one I have on my desktop, it was working well until I upgraded to 1607, now it will not open

Hi there

You need to re-install it again -- download the MSI from the dropbox account and simply re-install again.

Jimbo, have you tried the games on the AU edition ?

I clean installed the AU and found a problem with the games not working correctly. A bit of searching turned up the original W7/Vista games as being available from Winaero:

Get Windows 7 games for Windows 10

Be sure to only click the link for the games. I found these worked for both 32 and 64 bit installs of AU.

I downloaded all the games ok, only tried to install freecell, telling me, its on a network and unavailable, does not seem to work for me, thanks for trying, bit disappointed.

think I need a step by step, the instructions given do not install, what is AU ??

I noticed that after playing Freecell Two Deck (Italian version) on Win 10 Pro 1607 64 bit the system slows down and many windows (expecially confirmation windows) appear blank for much time.
Restarting the system solves the problem.
My only modification to the standard system is moving Internet temporary Files from disk C (SSD) to a secondary HD.

Hi there - what if Freecell isn't in my Dropbox, then what? I had freecell last night, but today, it's gone.
