Which is Better? A Gaming Desktop or Xbox One?

Hi zztemp. I checked out the link and saw the embedded video review. In it, the reviewer noted that you get good game frame rates when your GPU is limited. Does this mean you need to make sure the CPU is powerful enough?
Also, you make it seem like I shouldn't get a K processor cuz the GPU is what's important in gaming. So now I'm confused. Should I get a K or not for gaming?

The GPU is for gaming more important these days. Most work and calculations is done by them. This was also stated by essenbe a few post back.
The K is just for those that are into overclocking and are real tech minded. A good overclock does take Some skill and technical expertise. Do you know your wat around à bios? Do you know what TJ max is? Do you know how to place à new cooling unit if need be? Al these things you Will or might need with OCing.
Yes you get à performance boost out of it but in frames per second it wont be that much.
you cant go wrong with à K but you dont have to go with it either. If that maken Any sense?

And that helps in that I don't need to spend money upgrading the CPU. They say a K will be "future proof" for 4 - 5 years, at which point I'd then need to upgrade the CPU.
What do you think?

To be frank, I already answered those questions mate, i gave you valid arguments, as did essenbe.
We say, GPU > CPU, now and later. I don't get from what trend others say that CPU will become more demanding as all games show the opposite.
But for what it's worth. Yes, I think you should buy the K-version.
It's only +30 $ and you will have your peace of mind.
Your hearth is set on a K-version from the start, you should listen to that.

@ OP: Is this a serious question? You'll pay a bit more for a decent gaming PC but it's well worth it. Console gaming sucks balls, PC master race, LOL.

PC is overall the best option but I wouldn't shoot down console though. Consoles are better for couch co-op and while not having many; some have exclusives

From a non-gamer, I would opt for a gaming computer.
That said, MS is in the process of making Xbox a working computer. I read it come time ago from this forum.

Did you buy those parts already?
Cause Nvidia just released there 1070 and 1080 models. You might want to wait a month or so. The gtx 970 or even 980 will become cheaper.
A part from that i would go for a bigger case. Your Motherboard supports SLI. But i'm not sure you'll fit in two GPu's in that small case.
Even is you could, it would get pretty warm in there, so i would go for a larger case. it will have better airflow and will be more futur-proof. GPU's might get a bit longer, you'll have room for extra HDD, if you ever want to spice it up with LEDs or something... .
