Fallout - much more than a game..

Dogmeat is awesome. Especially once you armor him up a bit.
    - in true Bethesda fashion, the game unfolds as you play it.. it's a huge story, if you want to dig deeper..
    - it's as much fun finding out how to do things as it to actually do them.. (- if that makes sense..)

    - they do the same thing with Skyrim.. the vastness of the history becomes apparent, the more you play..
    - it's a brilliant technique, and makes the whole thing feel much more realistic and personal..

(- another reason why I enjoy Dishonoured and Dishonoured2 - good, rich storyline.. you're not under any pressure
to hunt down and kill the big end-boss, like you are in so many games these days - going slowly becomes fun, as well..)

I'm about 300 hours in and just got to Far Harbor. The lack of a linear storyline is probably my favorite thing about the game. It's also what's kept me from finishing the game so far, though.

I'll play for 20-40 hours at a time and then take a month or so break, as the sheer expanse of the game can overwhelm me sometimes.

I'm in a good place in it now, though, and plan to work my way through at least Far Harbor before my next break.

Yes, I've been feeding that dog (what is it, a German Shepard?). Maybe I can get him to find me some needed ammo .

OMG, 300 hours? A lack of linear storyline indeed. It took me about 70 hours each to finish WD2 and GTAV and I had to get used to driving with a keyboard. And I think Witcher 3 was about 80 hours. I thought that was long compared to FPS. I guess Fallout 4 will teach me a new kind of patience. It does have great reviews.

I'm taking a break, though. Had finished Wolfenstein New Order but not quite finished Old Blood. Went back to that. I have lots of guns and ammo.

Just started my Preload on Origin for Mass Effect Andromeda.

Reviews have been a little mixed I have seen disturbing reports about the animations and character models in particular. But, hoping for the best

Yes, hamnat, I've seen mixed reviews as well (below link) but I also think the anticipation for this game release is over the top.

Hoping you and others (DooGie, thanks to his fine daughter :)) will let us know how you like it once you take it for a spin.

Blackrose; I assume you know there is a new XOC software release (6.1.2) which is now for both ACX and ICX cards.

In addition to still having my Time Spy crashing with the OSD enabled, this new version doesn't keep my custom fan curve if I switch from custom to aggressive. The custom curve works fine but if I then switch to say aggressive the custom curve is gone. I didn't have this custom fan curve issue in 6.0.9.

Have you tried 6.1.2? Are you having the issues with the customer curve? Are you able to run Time Spy to completion on any version with the OSD enabled?

I've just gotten the new one downloaded, but I'm still running into bugs from the last one. It will reset my custom curves, yeah. It'll also just close itself out in the background for no reason now and then. Haven't tried Time Spy yet, but I was having the crashing issue with 6.0.9. I'll give it a run in 6.1.2 in a few and report back.

I can't get any of the benchmarks to run now. I'm stuck in an infinite "Getting SystemInfo" loop. Gonna verify the files and try again.

Welp, it's obvious no one will ever be able to beat my Time Spy score.
