I did run WD2 with HTFS on when I got my first 1080 Ti. I was seeing dips down into the low to mid 40s, so that seems to be about what should be expected based on your experience with your 1080 FTW, I think.

GTA V is the one that surprises me. I only seem to get about 65% out of each GPU. I could have sworn it scaled better than that. Either way, though, I tend to stay above 60 FPS most of the time even with advanced settings on, so I'm alright with it. This 7700K made a bigger difference than I thought it would.

Nessie can't do magic. Even some of the reviews I had read were somewhat baffled with the PC performance (see below). This certainly isn't good advertising for DX12. Your best move IMHO was per your last line above.

I should have ran with DX11 also for a comparison. Will in the future reinstall game and do just that.
