    Gog is usually the route most PC users have to take. but Honestly it is still DLC

    I game exclusively on GOG. I don't care how well Steam is doing, I don't like that a library of content can be wiped away as if it never existed should the time come.

    That said, do remember that while GOG is for the vast majority DRM-free, it in no way means that every title is completely cut off from online connection. There are still titles on there that require some sort of connection to the internet to unlock certain online related content. It's not DRM strictly but still.

    Personally I use GOG, Steam, and Battle.net for most of my gaming.

    The nice thing about GOG is that I don't need to run a client in the background which saves on system resources. However, my system is fairly beefy so what's used for Steam isn't that much of an issue in the most part.

    One of the advantages I've found from these services is that I don't need to ask about or find any game updates - they are automatically installed once available. There are, on rare occasions, even updates to some GOG titles (mostly DOSBox configs/updates).
