Never hear of this till i looked for a game and found it there cheap. Is this like another steam type site where you sign up and create an account and they keeps your games u buy from them on the cloud? An differences i should know about compared to steam or EA (formerly Origin) that i should know about? Thanks.
Yes, i finally realized that and then saw i could also download the standalone game, meaning the game by itself so theres no need to sign in or even have an account there are all anymore. Thats made me sign up and buy a game already and will likely buy a lot more. Thats what i always hated about steam and origin. I installed the game with the client but i will download any others i buy to save locally.
Also, GOG has a great selection of older games that have been "fixed" to run on newer OS's like Win 10 and 11.
Sometimes the resolution suffers on newer monitors, but you do get to play the older games if you like. :)
I use GOG for every game I want, that they have. "Galaxy" is their client right? I do not use it, and the moment they try to make me is the last day I buy anything there.
I hate the whole concept of Steam with a fuming, frothing passion! They are an invasive DRM system, and have gotten insanely bloated over the years with like 20 "helpers" and spy tools running at all times, and taking up what? 2 Gigabytes for the client alone with no games? They can just close up shop any day and ALL your games on Steam will vanish, POOF!
Even the few games I have bought on Steam, I run *cough* without Steam.
