Xbox One Controller Not Working, Not In Device Manager

Hey so I am having a bit of a problem here. I got a new Xbox One over the weekend and decided to use it on my PC for some of my PC games as well.

However, it simply does not work. It was listed in Device Manager, so I decided to right click and uninstall all the controller drivers from the Device Manager hoping it would reinstall them and work properly. This was not the case however, they are gone for good.

So in short, nothing relating to any controller is showing up in the Device Manager. It is not even showing up on the "Devices and Printers" portion of the control panel either.

I have downloaded and installed the Xbox One Controller drivers from Xbox themselves (for Windows 7/8.1 apparently since it's preinstalled on Windows 10.. however I uninstalled them and now they're gone, so I went with these) and it installed fine. However, same thing.. not showing up anywhere. It's as if they aren't even installed. I even tried reinstalling and nothing. My PC acts as if nothing is plugged in.

I have tried different Micro USB cables and all my USB ports as well and same thing, nothing.

When plugging the controller in, it just rumbles for a split second and that's it.

Does anyone know how I can resolve this? It's driving me bonkers at this point.

Not just with that, but even with games I have installed on Steam. My computer does not recognize or acknowledge any controller plugged into my computer. It just rumbles and that's it, nothing happens on the PC's side.

Did you install the drivers? XB1 controller isn't plug and play on W10, or at least it wasn't for me. It absolutely wouldn't work without downloading and installing the drivers.

I have both the 360 and xboxone controller and they both work fine completely plug and play, does the light come on the controller (under the X thingy I'm the middle), when you uninstalled the drivers was it still plugged in? If it was then you may have cleared the driver from the device it's self. An option although a bit extreme is roll back to before you tried the controller or use the recovery to clean up the system which would effectively give you a fresh install but save all your data.

I had this similar problem. I was trying to use the Windows 10 marketplace software for upgrading firmware for my controller but it was not recognized at all. I did two things. Swapped from my front USB ports to the back port. Updated Windows 10 latest updates and rebooted. After that the controller is recognized and the upgrade tool works too.
