Cannot install Games for Windows Live. Help!

Hello! So I am using Windows 10, and I am trying to install Games for Windows Live. When I try to install the app, it says I cannot install my app due to no internet or server problem (probably GFWL's servers are down cuz of this error).

I tried adding firewall rules for the installer, but it was no use. I even installed it's client, but it was also no use. How do I fix this issue? Thanks in advance!

Is there a particular game you want to install that requires Games for Windows – Live?

    Games for Windows – Live
List of Games for Windows – Live titles

For example I have a couple games that required Games for Windows – Live:
    • Grand Theft Auto IV
    • Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City

On March 19, 2020, an updated version of GTA IV named 'Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition' without the need for Games for Windows Live. It contains both GTA IV and GTA EFLC.

I now have the updated version of GTA IV, however, I was determine to figure out a way to install the original games again. I found a way to do it and have both it and the newer version installed.

I know what you are talking about

First off there are three different variants of the same installer. Try searching "Tron 2.0" and you should run into a fan website.
Apparently you can still use "Tron 2.0" and it's demo ( free legal version I guess ) to play the game online. I would assume you would have to turn off updates ( because I would ). I literally I had to purchase the physical game ( because I wanted to play this game for the longest ). Just look up the "Tron 2.0" fan made website that has many downloads for user created content and it should have the installer ( Windows Live ) somewhere.

    What I have installed is

Microsoft Games for Windows - LIVE
Micrsofot Games for Windows - LIVE Redistribution

I know I downloaded like three or two different variants. One was the older Vista version while the other is probably a legacy version. After reinstalling the newer version ( which I found researching "Tron 2.0" rather then digging through stuff I found
on random computers ) I was able to get that game ( along with other Microsoft Games for windows - LIVE ).

On the flip note there are GTA IV Mods for the ORIGINAL GTA IV games that allows you to play online with people, Same with San ANdres mods. In fact it is possible to link a
ll the Rockstar original games from

GTA III to Bully and explore all those areas online with multiple people and have hot-coffee unlocked.

Because they all use the same game engine. You could also switch around various characters whichever way you want to.

You have to check the unofficial GTA mod community because many of these mods was taken down over the years and requires some programming knowledge to link the games together.

I am sorry to hear about how anything requires Windows Live Install, even "Tron 2.0" which you could still play online with people via the demo version as well. Not the story but v. mode.

I really hate how everyone brought into the X-box online community bs. Even Nintendo attacked people for making Wii events
in person with actual sponsors because nobody was sponsoring Nintendo ( Nintendo makes no money with After-market enthusiasts ).

That being said Kalleria is another option to link games as you should be able to integrate it into almost anything. The Kalleria Client is able to allow games to run across via servers. The client would run first and then the game would load. But again you need program knowledge for it to function correctly. It is better then Steam in my opinion or Google-Play. More simple less
    cooperate.

    Clarification of previous post...

The GTA IV & GTA EFLC worked with Games for Windows Live using a file called xlive.dll. Since Games for Windows Live is no more I use a mod called XLiveLess. XLiveLess provides a replacement xlive.dll file that eliminates the need for Games for Windows Live.

BTW, even this is not enough to install these games. The Release Date Check in the installation gives an error. To get around this set the year to 2013, install the game, and then restore the current date.
