Playstation 4 Controller R Trigger Acting Up

Windows 10 Pro Fully Updated

I've had this controller for about a month now and I still cannot figure out what's causing the R Trigger to just suddenly stop working. The USB cable is a month old as well. It'll stop working at random times (even when not running a game) and then start working again after about 10-15 seconds--sometimes longer. It's very annoying but I still love this controller. I use it to Final Fantasy 14. This is the best controller I've ever owned and I am determined to figure out the cause.

What I Have Tried

Obviously, the first thing I tried was another USB cable and a different kind of controller. Using a different USB cable did not fix the issue. Using another controller (regular generic game pad) worked fine and proved that the issue is with the PS4 controller. Made sure all of my Windows 10 drivers were up-to-date. I tested other USB ports on my PC--same thing. Updated to .NET Framework 7.0. Tried going into Device Manager and disabling Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator but found that it was already disabled. Tried DS4Windows. Installed it and set it up and then ran it. Still the R Trigger acts up. The only thing I haven't tried was connecting the controller to Windows via Bluetooth. Because I don't have a bluetooth dongle on hand at the moment. I think I will get one and try that. This is an aftermarket controller by the way but the build quality is very nice. Was there anything else I should have tried?

Nope. I paid $20.51 for it. I guess I should invest in another controller then?

Ok. So, I tested it out on a game pad tester app on my Android smartphone (connected by a USB cable) for about an hour and it worked flawlessly. There is nothing wrong with the controller. The problem is its compatibility with Windows 10. As this is the first time I ever tried a PS4 pad on Windows 10. I have tried XBox controllers on Windows 10 and never had this problem. But I want to use the PS4 pad.

I already tried DS4 Windows. It doesn't help at all. The controller acts up on Windows 10 and any game I play. But I think I found a work-around by using x360ce. Are you familiar with that program? It emulates an Xbox controller on Windows 10. And it seems to work well while playing Final Fantasy 14. I notied that sometimes the R Trigger will try to act up but then it straightens up right away. So, I guess I'll be using this when playing PC games as I no longer have an Xbox controller.

cheap controllers come with issues get what you pay for with the price. Its not uncommon for the axis and input to be wired in way that is strange on these cheap controllers and the list of issues they can have is quite large.

or just buy a xinput native controller and be done with it. Xinput has the most saturation, i am biased because i have always bought Xbox controllers since the first PC one came out, but there is no denying that other controllers fall short because that is the paradigm we are talking about an area in computing where Xinput has been the dominate factor for over 10 years.
