Forza Horizon 3, Help! What is this?
5950X 7900XTX
Game runs smoothly, no crashes, I just have this issue when I'm not actually in the map driving around. It's only in the Autoshow so buying cars, wheels, and visual upgrades are near impossible. If I get the angle JUST right I can kinda make out what I'm doing.

Highly possible overheating.
Appears to be lots of people having similar issues. Problem with some of these video cards is not enough water in the vapor chamber

Not mine, FH3 maxed out stays around 60c with a hotspot of 75c. Only happens in this ONE game in the auto show. I can play normally in game, just the menus are like this.

Hmm.... The only other things I can think of is various effects when in the auto show are causing this. Sort of like sun rays or dynamic lighting can cause frame drops in games sometimes.
Does changing texture and quality, visual effects, or resolution have any affect?
Maybe Roll back Drivers see if it changes.
Check the Forza game forums maybe others are having similar issues???

Pixelation/artifacting like that is usually vram issue i see in the image you are boosting towards your base memory clock of 2500 at 2487 which should be fine but if you are seeing this problem do some testing or lower/increase your clock speed for this game until you find a point that is good.
Afterburner would also suggest potentially overclocking in this context definitely the case you need to dial in your sweet spot some more especially around your vram.
its not uncommon to see these issue within spec depending on game.
You could also try lowering textures and effects.

i don't know this game but sometimes scenes like this one can be more impactful because they using higher poly models and higher scene count etc in some scenes over others, a garage would be a good example of this because the cars are more defined than in the actual game play in some cases. I have seen this in several games.
a game i play called Naraka my GPU spins right up in the menu scenes/character customization because of higher poly assets in those scenes, like its about to go to space but in actual game play its less taxing.

I tinkered with all the graphics options. Nothing changed.
Cutscenes are perfectly fine.
Yes the car is crap but it's the only FWD vehicle with similar horsepower to my Chevrolet Cavalier.
I tried a different GPU driver, still had the same issue.
I am right now uninstalling the game and going to reinstall on a different drive.
I did actually try to see if anyone else had this issue before I came here but I don't even know what to call this problem.
Setting the GPU to Stock, Rage, or a custom overclock changed nothing in the game.
Enabling Vsync to 60/120/144 did nothing either btw.

That game was released in 2016.
One problem I've seen posted a lot concerning AMD cards, is that sometimes using the latest driver causes issues with older games. You might want to try an older driver.

It plays GTAV, Dead Rising 3, and Dead Island just fine which are also pretty old if not older, I think. I know it's silly playing FH3 since there's 4 and 5 but I hate 4 because of the seasonal changes and the location. 5 I was playing the crap out of until I started getting XboxLive errors every time it updated which wouldn't even let the game load up unless I uninstalled then reinstalled. Every single time it updated.
Y'know I don't think I have the best luck with Forza Horizon games....
