    Is this normal

In the past I got double input in my Xbox one controller and in my 8bitdo sn30 pro+ controller. I pressed a button once on the controller and that triggered 2 fast button presses in the game. The double input was caused by a software problem. I solved the software problem which was causing the double input and now I am using the 8bitdo sn30 pro+ controller and things are ok.

However, I am sometimes getting double input with the 8bitdo sn30 pro+ controller when I press a button in a bad way. When you press a button properly then the contact under the button goes vertically down in a straight line, it touches a circuit which triggers a button press and then when you properly release that button then the contact goes up vertically in a straight line.

However, you can press a button in a bad way or release a button in a bad way by accident and that also causes double input. I will give you examples:-

Pressing a button in a bad way: You don't press the button properly in the center and you press the edge. That causes the contact to go down at an angle instead of straight down and the contact touches the circuit while it's at an angle so that's one button press. After that the contact goes back to being a straight line and that movement makes the contact touches the circuit again so that's another button press and then the contact goes up. Thus the circuit was touched twice so there is double input.

Releasing a button in a bad way: You press the button and you hold it so that's one button press. After that you wiggle the button as you are releasing it so the contact wiggles before it goes up and that movement makes the contact touches the circuit again so that's another button press and then the contact goes up. Thus the button is pressed again while it's going up.

Both things have happened to me by accident while I was using my 8bitdo sn30 pro+ controller. I tried to replicate them both and sometimes I can make both things happen again by luck. Thus now it's happening because of how the controller works and it's not because of the software problem which caused the previous double input problems. Am I correct?

Is my analysis of what happens when you press a button in a bad way correct and when you release a button in a bad way correct?

Have both things also happened to you by accident when you are using your controller?

That sounds very reasonable at to why a double press may be happening, but to have that happen on two controllers that seem like they'd be well made strikes me as a little suspicious.

I'm wondering if perhaps the software you are using with the controller in addition to Windows detecting inputs is the cause of the problem. I've experienced oddities like that with Logitech keyboard software, so now I just let Windows use its built-in driver and not some third-party keyboard driver and software suite.

If it's possible, just install the driver and not the software suite if it has that. Then monitor the button activity under Devices and Printers in the Windows Control Panel. You can do that with the software installed and not installed for testing.

Have you tried the USB cable instead of Bluetooth?

    Hello,
Your analysis of what happens when you press a button in a bad way or release a button in a bad way is generally accurate. When you press a button improperly, such as pressing the edge instead of the center, it can cause the contact to make unintended contact with the circuit, resulting in multiple button presses. Similarly, when you release a button while wiggling it, the contact may make additional contact with the circuit, triggering another button press.

These issues can occur with controllers in general, including the 8bitdo sn30 pro+ controller or other similar controllers. They are not specific to a particular controller brand or model.

Well.....the sensitivity and responsiveness of buttons may vary between different controller models, and some controllers may be more prone to registering unintended button presses. This can be influenced by the design and construction of the controller.

To minimize the occurrence of accidental double inputs, I think you press the buttons in the center and release them smoothly without unnecessary movement. Being mindful of your button inputs and maintaining good control over your controller can help reduce the likelihood of unintentional button presses.
