Growing "Easy" anti-cheat problem.
So if you play games as much as I do, you'll notice an increasing amount of game companies outsourcing their anti cheating efforts to a 3rd party. There are ethics and privacy concerns with these 3rd party companies given the level of access these parasitic software's have to your PC.
The main issue I have, is the amount of instability to a game these anti cheat programs cause.
The games that crash on me the most are games that have Easy Anti Cheat implemented in them. Sometimes I cant even start a game. Sometimes it crashes mid game or slows the game. I wont get into the other issues that I have not experienced yet, like indiscriminate banning of players without cause. So far I have not experienced that.
But as the old argument goes, rules for thee not for me.
Example :Like gun control only really hurts the people not causing a problem.
They got shot from one side, and disarmed from another. And the real cheaters are at all levels still doing what they do, but this time you have a top down weight preventing you from living freely. And the cheaters are able to circumvent this software regardless.
The Question : How if at all, Can I lower the affinity of my own CPU of software that locks the ability to do that?
EasyAntiCheat uses all cores. And This is not right. I'd like to limit its core use to 2 or 3. It says Access Denied when I try to set the affinity. Is there any way to set this for this software in RegEdit or with other software? I tried Process-Hacker software, its a Task Manager replacement that lets you change affinity but, it also gets the same Access Denied notification.
I'm at a loss.
Trying to play a game [ The Division 2 ] I really have liked for years DV1 and DV2, and this game is just not running well with EACheat.
