Xbox App Isn't opening any games unless...

The Xbox Live app on my rig is REALLY infuriating me here...

In order to play a game that has just updated I have to uninstall then reinstall the game.
Works fine, until the game has another update.
I have to uninstall the game and then reinstall it to get it to work again.
    Every. Single. Time.

It isn't just ONE game, it's ALL of them.

I get the same code too first time around, then the second time it's just nothing.
I'm sure there's error notifications in Event Viewer but they get me nowhere.

    Hi, gettheclicker!

What you are dealing with sucks indeed. I have had similar issues mine are more with friending and/game invites not registering but I have had some times where I've dealt with what you are experiencing. Another crazy thing happening is when you are told that you don't have Xbox Game/Cloud Pass.

I want to see if I can help you with your issue.
Was this always an issue or was there a magical time when games
would update and everything worked as intended?
Does anyone else use the PC and/or Your Xbox Name/Tag?
Do you frequently play a game on one PC and pick up that same game up on
another PC or an XBOX ONE?
    Clearing/Restoring doesn't help?

The app use to work just fine. There was one game that suddenly gave out a SHIPPING.WIN64.EXE error but that was solved by moving it to another drive.
Not too long after every game gave me the standard Xlive "OOPS we've encountered an error (4XB08979000)" Whatever code. Only way to solve that is to as mentioned, a complete uninstall/reinstall.
Then the game would update again, I'd get the same code, have to uninstall/reinstall then it worked perfectly.
I do not play on an xbox though my kids do. They do not have access to my account or my games.
NOBODY touches my computer. I have openly admitted to the family how important it is to me and I'm not ashamed of it lol.
    Running scans shows no errors.
Verifying files shows they are all there and in good order.
    Reinstalling without uninstalling does nothing.

    Gettheclicker:

You've clearly done your homework as an end user, trying to reset/refresh and otherwise double check everything, this effort most likely allows one to rule out the PC being the issue. This further has me noting it's quite possibly an Xbox Live issue. I know I've had my share of *WTH is going on* moments with use of game pass as stated in my first response. I guarantee you that Xbox App it's self has bugs for sure. That being said I'll do a little digging just to see if Microsoft is even aware that there are people going through all this hell, as a response to updating their games. Let me know if something like this ever comes up as an error code. 0x00000001

Lastly I know you normally don't check your event viewer and I get it. If you could in a random chance, I'm missing something as it allows people to help you better since; oftentimes errors codes can be specific and that's helpful. This means things could be resolved faster so, you can finally enjoy gaming again & not dread the update woes.
