So i decided to start off my replacing the custom pci-e cable i have for my gpu and motherboard. So far so good, ran Spiderman for 3 hours or so with no crashes. Will keep testing, just to confirm it's the custom cables i'll put them back in and run the game again, if it locks my machine up then that must be it...

Hey you know what, I have exactly the same problem as you. My PC just went black screen and then automatically restarted the system only when I play Spiderman Remastered. I can play RDR2, FC6 and more without problem. I'm not sure but I guess that's because of the ray tracing in Spiderman.

My issue is still on going, i've narrowed it down to Event ID = 0 with nvlddmkm failing to respond. If you google that same issue it seems like many people have been having this problem since the latest nvidia graphics update. You can attempt to send your gpu back using RMA and as i've seen some people do that and the issue was gone which is strange to say the least. I've got third party thermal pads on mine so i'd rather not go through the hassle of applying them on a new 3080fe. Looks like we're just going to have to wait until nvidia get off their asses and do something.

Regarding RDR2 playing fine, i believe the issue has something specifically to do with DX12. RDR2 might be using vulkan on your machine which might explain why it's running fine.

I see... So you encountered that buggy nvlddmkm too. I got mine also, strangely, just once. The other black screens generated dumps showing Critical Process Died.
I never overclock my GPU (3060ti) and the temperature never reaches above 80c. So I think this might not be a hardware issue. It has to be somewhere in between the game config and the latest driver update.

Just a quick update, i lowered my core clock by -100 on afterburner and left everything aside from the fan speed at stock, crashes are less frequent now and i can play for some hours now, the game does pause for a second or two very rarely but better than CTD. I don't know if this is a sign of a faulty card or maybe i'll just have to pray the next nvidia update fixes the issue.

I came here to mention the possibility of it being that nvlddmkm error that many people are having on the latest nvidia drivers, some even having complained about it on previous drivers going back as far as June.

It started funnily enough when I updated them for Spider-Man Remastered. I have been fortunate enough to not have any hard crashes so far, just very annoying screen blackouts for a couple seconds as it recovers itself instead.

Honestly same here, started happening as soon as i updated for spiderman, really wish i didn't... I'm currently in talks with nvidia and doing some trouble shooting. They told me to run an old ass program called "video card stability test" which i did and after coming up to the 1 hour mark i got my first BSOD in years. If someone who has the pro version of whocrashed can grab the info and tell me what caused the crash i'd be very greatful. I've attached it to this post. Thanks!
