My old PC will not display squares in the New Microsoft Minesweeper.

    Hi,
I have a 1st gen quadcore (i7-950) with an ATI Radeon HD 4850 1GB GPU that has served me well. With the latest release of Minesweeper, which is very cool, I can no longer see the squares (grid).
    Here is what I see.

I can see everything except the grid. I can click around & blow things up, the squares light up momentarily during the explosion. It is trying, just not quite there

We have a slightly newer PC with an nVidia GeForce GTX 760 & here is what it should look like.

The Radeon HD 4850 PC does have DirectX version 12.
I reinstalled Minesweeper. Reinstalled the Display driver too. Did not help.

I ran dxdiag on both machines & made a comparison.
The Radeon HD 4850 machine does not support DXVA-HD nor D3D9 Overlay, is DDI version 10.1 & driver model is WDDM 1.1.
The GeForce GTX 760 machine does support DXVA-HD & D3D9 Overlay, is DDI version 12 & driver model is WDDM 2.7.
Not sure if I am onto anything here. Is it possible this latest release of Minesweeper may have surpassed the capabilities of my GPU?

    My specs:
    CPU Core i7-950, Chipset X58
GPU ATI (AMD) Radeon HD 4850 1GB version
    RAM 12GB DDR3 1066MHz
    Windows 10 Pro 21H2 OS build 19044.1865
    Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4180.0

    Thanks
