    Reinstall MS Flight Simulator 2020

After restoring my system drive form a Reflect backup all works except Flight Simulator which gives this error.

Microsoft Flight Simulator can’t open because it can’t be found. The storage device might be missing or disconnected.

This appears to be a common problem fixed by reinstalling the game. The only way to do this seems to be to uninstall then reinstall it. However, when doing this do you lose all your flight records etc?

    Hello @Steve C,

I do NOT use it myself, but is there a setting to export current game play Statistics/Stage/Parameters/Score, etc, or maybe the .ini or .cfg file?

Or maybe even an internal game backup folder within the games Root directory?

I fixed this by restoring the games data on another drive to the same date as the restored system drive date and all now works.

MSFS seems fussy about the synchronisation of its files on the system drive and the data drive where the main games files are stored. You therefore need to recover both drives to the same date to ensure MSFS will work.
