is my xbox one controller firmware updated
i am using the new model xbox one controller which uses a type c usb cable on my alienware 17 r5 laptop which has windows 10 build 2004. Xbox Wireless Controller - Blue | Xbox is my controller and i play by using a usb wire
sometimes when i am playing games by using that controller dwm.exe is crashing because ism.dll is failing. this is what i see in the event viewer:-

i did some research. i found this Desktop Window Manager crashing sporadically : techsupport and i am getting the same problem. the solution is to install the app xbox accessories and update the firmware
the app xbox accessories was not installed on my laptop. i installed it. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.n...0748A1FFDF1E8/ is the version that i have
i clicked on the ... so i get the screen that says the firmware version. it said no updates available. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.n...BDF7D1302E65F/ is my firmware version. i clicked on the no updates button and i clicked continue. it went to 100% quickly and the controller light blinked on and off
i don't understand why ism.dll was failing before. was it failing because i was using the xbox one controller without the xbox accessories app installed?
is the version of the app and the firmware version the latest ones?
