Start Menu changing size after playing games

Not sure how else to describe this. It's not really a problem, more of a concern.

After I play a certain game on Steam, or maybe any game (not sure) when I exit the game I find the font in the window for the game has increased meaning it then exceeds the size of the window slightly, and my start menu become massive with larger font.

Not sure if that makes sense.

It goes back if I restart and sometimes if I reopen the game (without starting the whole game up) it reverts back then.

Why is it doing this, and how do I stop it?

I don't like it when computers start doing weird things.

It also started doing this after I got a prompt from Nvidia to update the drivers on my graphics card. I haven't done this yet, but I did create an account with Nvidia using the app so maybe related to that..

I find some of these games and their clients (eg. Steam, Ubisoft) cause the settings on my UI to change temporarily sometimes.

Please keep in mind that many things that can be done on a computer involves the RAM/Random Access Memory, data is held there while in use. When getting issues that seem abnormal the first step is to ALWAYS reboot the computer to see if the issues continue. RAM is volatile, holds data only when having power, the reboot clears that out to give a fresh start.

Isn't this a problem associated by running the game at a different resolution to the Desktop?

It could be, what is seen on the screen is not static like a picture on the wall but dynamic, always changing or refreshing, held in memory.

I see this this often when closing games down, the desktop graphics settings temporarily change before reverting to what I should have them set to. It's just I've never seen games causing the changes to remain, and in this instance it's not happening every time and they appear to revert back on their own usually.

Just want to find out if there is something not right, so I can fix it now before it maybe later on causes my set up to become unstable or something.

I generally don't like have all different games clients installed, but you have to to play some of these games.
