how do i get 3d acceleration to work in windows 10 on my computer?

I'm trying to play an old game (Jedi knight dark forces 2) but it requires 3d acceleration. It just shows black screen on my computer. I am running a hd graphics 3000 and direct x12 (i think). The game is downloaded on steam. just opens black screen.

That integrated graphics isnt enough to do it. You'll need a video card if a desktop

It looks like your problem is that this is an old game as show by the following system requirements.

    Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II
    Minimum system requirements:
    Video Card: DirectX
    CPU: Pentium 90
    RAM: 16 MB
OS: Windows 2000, XP or Vista
    Free Disk Space: 700 MB
    Sound Card: Yes

It is not designed for Windows 10 64-bit. However, there is hope. Read this information on making it work with Window 64-bit. Note there is also information regarding the Steam version.

If you still have problems I suggest you ask for help on the Steam forums.
