    Oh dear Ms whats the point of Ms Games on a SERVER !! (W2K19)

    Hi there
    Ok you can add desktop experience to W2K19 server but I really don't see why games should be added automatically on to a professional server -- perhaps the servers at Ms are these days busy because people playing Spider solitaire on them !!!

    Nothing wrong with playing things like spider solitaire --great at boring meetings etc but shouldn't this stuff be better left to standard Windows on users own laptops.

    (You can of course use W2K19 server as a desktop - but in that case it should be up to you to choose what to install - as I've added some apps myself in the screenshot below. I certainly didn't want the Ms games !!!).

    Yuppers. Games should instead be played on a big HPC Cluster.

    @jimbo45;

    I'm confused. I have numerous WIndows Server 2019 boxes installed with the GUI, and I do not have any GAMES installed on these servers.

    Did you install Server Core to begin with and added Desktop experience after the fact? Or did you install directly using that option during the install?

    For example, during the install I am selecting this

    And after the install, I don't have any games

    Hi there

    @pparks1

    I was being "a bit Naughty" here trying to mess around with W2K19 server and turn it into a workstation -- seems somehow games got installed -- not sure how : !!! as per the previous screenshot.

    I've been doing the same thing to W2K22 trial server and there's no games on that one - so what I did ????? I haven't a clue.

    The W2K19 server was a legit (at least I have to asume it was) from the workplace -maybe it had already been "adjusted" before I got my greasy mits on it. Note it was "The real thing" - not an evaluation version so that might be a difference.

    W2019 server after I'd "Workstationed it" !!!

    spider solitaire on it

    maybe Ms should treat me to some nice big time treat !!!

    W2K22 server - no games on that one. Evaluation version available only. Again after I'd "Workstationed it".

    In both cases I added the Windows desktop experience AFTER the basic install and used the Standard rather than Data centre editions for W2K22 and the data centre edition for W2K19 which was a "normal" not a preview trial edtion so that "could" have been a difference.

    BTW photoshop ran like "greased lightning" on W2K22 server compared with W10 !!!!

    again to @pparks1

    If you manually install the "W7 games for W10" from Winaero - it works both on W2K19 and W2K22 servers

    Install from here : Install Windows 7 Games Hearts, Solitaire and More on Windows 10

    Working on W2K22 server now

    Have fun !!
