Actually, Steam has a massive sale going on on Introversion games.

I couldn't resist it at that price. Even though I found the original CD installer as well lol. However, trying to play it on a 4K monitor would not work at all, unless you started the game and continued playing without interruptions (aka notifications) _ the minute anything external pops up, poof, the screen data all goes off-screen on the bottom. This is at 1080p on a 4k monitor.
But changing to higher res makes it worse - at 4K resolution, it actually bleeds off the top and bottom of the monitor, and also the the left and right (so that the left side bleeds onto my second 1080p monitor).
However, I also found UplinkOS, a mod faithfully developed for Uplink with updated HUD and graphics and much, much better support for 4K display:

Mod dev hasn't really updated it in a year or so, but it has almost no flaws at this point, and he made one for Steam and another for GoG (which might also work with the original CD installer as well).
It's AMAZING how well this mod makes it to play Uplink. It almost rivals Hacker Evolution: Duality, really, with the mod in place.
