Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Crash to Desktop

I just installed this game and have had a few problems with it crashing to the desktop. I have various fixes to investigate including setting a paging file of at least 16 GB (I have 16 GB RAM). Has anyone had a similar issue and fixed it?

I fixed this by setting a large 16GB paging file on a SSD drive

What FPS are you seeing with MSFS in it's current state?

With my system (see My computer) I can hold 50-55fps over southern Ca. on 'High setting' in sim.

That depends on your GPU, CPU and screen resolution. Using a 10 year old i5-3570K GPU, RTX 2060 Super GPU and a 2560 x1440 display, I get 20-30 fps on high settings. The frame rate drops under 20 fps when flying over cities with dense buildings.

I would bet you'd see at min a 10-20fps boost..

    My system is an i7 3770K, GA-Z68XP-UD3, G-Skill Trident X 32GB DDR3, RTX 2070 OC, 34in Ultrawide @2560x1080p

    Hey Steve C,

I went through the unable to update thing you are seeing yesterday and came up with a process after tinkering with it for about an hour. Hopefully it works for you too.

My understand was their servers were inundated with folks trying to update that many weren't able to right away. When I went to the Microsoft store after the sim notified me to update it wouldn't show it needed an update after clicking...'Get Updates" after waiting 20 mins or so it suddenly showed .
